Why IBM dislike Quickr?

widgets.jpgHow did I get this feeling? When you install Lotus Notes client you are able to select the Activities (which is a connector to Lotus Connections), Sametime client is installed automatically (never tried deselect it) but there is no connector to Quickr. Yes, you are able to install it separately from Quickr server, but why it isn't included in installation?

BTW: you are able to change the order of Widgets in the side bar by simple drag-n-drop in version 8.5 beta 1, which is great!

    Why IBM dislike Quickr?

IBM does like Quickr; the connectors are part of the entitlements. Quickr Entry is a standard entitlement with a Lotus Notes client, so there is a case for having it included with the installation. I am advising the product team about this as a Design Partner but obviously cannot make promises on any action at this point!

I think it is definitely a must otherwise people doesn't know about this great and wonderful product and don't care where to get it. And at the same time (at least I think) it isn't a big deal to provide additional connector in default installation.

This is something we want to do, but it's challenging. Currently the Notes connector relies on the Windows Explorer connector for some things, so we'd need to install that too. We're looking at ways we can solve this problem, because ideally, we would be part of Notes install.

Just finished Mary Beth presentation and the feeling that IBM dislike Quickr is back - why are you able to connect calendar from Activites in 8.5 but not from Quickr? And there is more - Profiles, Dogear in open menu of Lotus Notes but no direct link to Quickr.
