How to manage my comments?

Translate into English | 26. 7. 2007 | Kategorie: Nezařaditelné, | Komentáře: 6

I started to leave my comments on more and more sites as I know how nice it is to have some comments under my entries. But I have serious problem how to manage these comments, if I want to know what others wrote to the same article or if I made some point and want to know if someone disagree with me or have some good ideas. It's impossible to bookmark all these pages and visit them regulary but which other way I could choose?

I saw several pages using coComment, but (after some searching on their site) I'm not sure if it should work on all pages or just on special enabled ones.

My short question is - how you manage your comments on other's pages? Do you have some super hyper tip for this? I should also mention that I prefer RSS channel or email for this monitoring as I dislike to login on web pages regulary to see what is new.

Have you ever tried "Page Minder" function in "Personal Web Navigator" database for this purpose?

No, I'm not using LN for browsing web, but it sounds like great idea :)

Now I'm reading your blog from LN klient. I added your pages to my "Page Minder" so it should send me a memo if your pages was updated (e.g. if somebody added a commentary). Your blog looked in Pers. Web Navigator like it contaned only some photos and no text. When I changed field named "HTML Save Options" to value "Save as RichText and HTML", it is possible to see most of the texts. Counter of comments for each article is not visible - there are only a "red boxes" instead of numbers. I hope, this comment will be added without problem.

Wow, maybe I should start using it for browsing as well, but as far as I remember, it wasn't too much user-friendly. Counter is done as picture, this is maybe reason why it is as red box.

Many pages looks really different in LN browser, but it is efficient for monitoring changes on some web sites and sending summary of ascertained changes by mail. Then is no problem to open modified page using another browser. Unfortunatelly, some http servers or web sites/pages doesn't support "Last-Modified Command", so "Page Minder" cannot recognize changes on them. Other sites generate a bit different page for each access (e.g. a change of an advertisment on particular page) and results of these changes are not interesting for these purposes. But I don't know any other web browser (or a plug-in to any browser) which has similar functionality like "Page Minder" or "Web Ahead" in LN. It is possible to modify these functions easily, because they are written in LS as usual LN scheduled agents. Maybe, it will be better to optimize all web sites in the world for LN browser and its unique functions. ;-)
